Dear Mum series, 2017
Dear Mum series, 2017, Sizes Variable, Correction Fluid on Postcards.
A series of postcards circulated over 20 years ago from across the Middle East to the UK, have been collected and doctored using white correction fluid. The original message on the postcard is from a son writing back to his mum about his trip to each respective country, namely, Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. These crudely doctored texts reveal an honest reflection of the current state of each country. A simple line, or prose, almost a remnant of what used to exist both literally and metaphorically.
