Acces Tous Pays, 2016, Paper, Light

A large-scale installation of paper airplanes folded up from the pages of my mother’s old Lebanese passport that she used to flee Beirut during the civil war in 1982.

28 paper airplanes, one for each page of the passport, are lined up side by side along the wall, illuminated from below projecting their elongated shadows foreword as though they were fighter jets about to take flight.
